Take part in one or more of our exciting winter courses as we offer some of the most comprehensive Cold Weather Survival Training in the country. Whether you need to learn new skills to instill confidence in your abilities or simply brush up on a variety of techniques, don't miss out on these exciting and unforgettable courses.
Field training ranges from two to seven days in the breathtaking snow-covered mountains of the northern Oregon Cascades. Overnight courses are always the preferred method of training. It is one thing to learn to build a winter shelter. It is an entirely different matter to spend the night in it – during poor weather conditions. Only then can you learn its qualities and increase your confidence level through first-hand experience.
We, therefore, offer a wide variety of sheltering methods in overnight formats and teach other critical life-saving skills. We will teach you how to adapt to multiple settings with varying snowpack and weather conditions. All winter field training requires snowshoes (available for rent from us - no previous snowshoeing experience is necessary) or skis. If you desire to ski, you must be at least an intermediate level skier. |
